Details from the Marriage Certificate of James Francis Durham and Jane Green

Jimmy Durham and Jane Green married, by licence, at Newcastle Register Office on 25 July 1908. Jimmy gives his name as James Francis Durham; he is recorded as 24 years old, a bachelor and a ‘Bandsman in 2nd Durham Light Infantry’, living at The Barracks, Newcastle. The columns for his father’s name and occupation have been left blank, as Jimmy would not have been able to supply that information.

Jane Green, a spinster, was aged 22, and was from 16 May Street, Bishop Auckland. Her father, Thomas Green, was a foreman blacksmith.

The witnesses to the marriage were J.L. and Mary Buckle.
